Port Vale: Doug Loft may take legal action after Daniel Jones bust-up

Port Vale captain Doug Loft may take legal action against Daniel Jones after suffering facial injuries in a training ground row with his ex-colleague. "We went into a tackle and as I was getting up off the floor he hit me," said Loft. "I fell backwards and sat on the floor, the gaffer sent him in and I went to hospital for X-rays." Loft, who will be out of contract in the summer, said Jones had sent him a text to apologise. "At the minute, I am angry," added Loft. "I have been playing really well and I was getting a lot of interest and I knew that people were watching me. "I am annoyed and upset that I will miss the rest of the season." Vale manager Micky Adams said the League One club would be holding an internal investigation and would not be issuing any further statement until later this week. He revealed the incident had taken place in training last Thursday. "It's another negative headline that, for some reason, this club attracts, but it has to be dealt with internally," he said.
